(San Antonio, TX) — The New York Knicks are NBA Champions.
The Knicks won Game Five of the NBA Finals over the San Antonio Spurs 94-to-90 from the Lone Star State. Jalen Brunson led the way for the Knicks with a 45 point outburst, tied with Michael Jordan for the most points in a series-clinching Finals win on the road. Brunson was named the Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP for his efforts.
Victor Wembanyama scored 19 to go with 14 rebounds, while rookie Dylan Harper led the Spurs with 25 points.
This marks the third championship in franchise history for the Knicks and their first since 1973. New York went 16-and-3 across their postseason run, including a 13-game winning streak and Eastern Conference Finals sweep.
