SPRINGFIELD — Home sales in the Rockford metropolitan area fell 36.2% in June compared with a year earlier, the largest percentage decline among Illinois metro areas, with 249 homes sold compared with 390 in June 2025. Despite fewer sales, the Rockford area’s median home price rose 16.6% to $239,000. Statewide, home sales increased 2.4% to 14,374, while the median sales price climbed 6.2% to $345,000. Among Illinois metro areas, the lowest June median home price was $150,000 in the Danville area, while the highest was $427,500 in the city of Chicago.
