DIXON – A 27-year-old Sterling man was arrested Tuesday after an investigation into threats of violence allegedly made against his former employer in Dixon. The Dixon Police Department began investigating Aug. 25 after receiving reports of threats sent to the former employer. Investigators identified Izaya P. Hurley as a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant. Hurley was arrested at his Sterling home and taken to the Lee County Jail. He is charged with making a terroristic threat, a Class X felony, and falsely making a terroristic threat, a Class 1 felony. The investigation was assisted by the Lee County State’s Attorney’s Office, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Sterling Police Department and Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office.
