Four Charged in Dixon Storage Unit Burglary

DIXON – Four people have been charged following a lengthy investigation into the burglary of multiple storage units at All Safe Storage Center in Dixon last October. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the business at 690 Timber Creek Road on Oct. 27, 2025, after a hole was cut in the fence and multiple storage units were entered by cutting the locks.

Troy J. Stapelton, 47, of Rock Falls, faces three counts of burglary, two counts of theft of more than $10,000 but less than $100,000 and theft as a subsequent offense. Dakota L. Bottoms, 31, of Sterling, faces three counts of burglary, two counts of theft of more than $10,000 but less than $100,000, criminal damage to property and theft of less than $500. Timothy J. Parker, 44, of Poplar Grove, faces three counts of burglary, two counts of theft of more than $10,000 but less than $100,000 and theft as a subsequent offense. Jessica A. Hawley, 48, of Davenport, Iowa, faces the same charges as Stapelton and Parker. Bottoms was arrested Aug. 5 by Sterling Police on a Lee County warrant and was released on pretrial conditions with a notice to appear in court. Parker was arrested Aug. 5 by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and remains in the Lee County Jail after being ordered detained. Stapelton is being held in the Whiteside County Jail on separate burglary and theft charges, while Hawley is serving a sentence with the Illinois Department of Corrections on unrelated Whiteside County cases.
