DeKalb Council Approves Environmental Cleanup Contract For Monat Building

DEKALB — The DeKalb City Council approved a contract Monday for asbestos hazard mitigation at the Monat Building at 148 N. Third St. The council approved a resolution awarding Kinsale Contracting Group a contract not to exceed $26,325 for the work before the building is demolished. The project will clear the site for a planned 59 space public parking lot as part of future downtown redevelopment.
