Ogle County Board Member Skip Kenney to Retire After 23 Years of Service

OREGON — Ogle County Board Chairman Bruce Larson announced Tuesday that District 4 Board Member Skip Kenney will retire July 31 after 23 years of public service. Larson praised Kenny for his leadership, saying he always stood firmly for taxpayers and made decisions based on what he believed was best for the county, even when those choices were unpopular. Kenney served in several leadership roles during his time on the board, including committee chairman and vice chairman positions. Larson thanked Kenney for his years of dedication and said his integrity, steady leadership and commitment to the people of Ogle County left a lasting mark on the community. When invited to speak, Kenney kept his remarks brief, telling the board, “I’ve said enough, Ogle, for 23 years.”
