McCombie Files Vehicle Registration Efficiency Act

SPRINGFIELD — House Minority Leader Tony McCombie has filed legislation aimed at making Illinois vehicle registration renewals more efficient by expanding online access for two-year registration stickers. The proposal, House Bill 5767, would require the Illinois Secretary of State to allow residents to renew a two-year registration sticker online, a service currently available in person. McCombie said the change would streamline the process, reduce unnecessary steps, and improve convenience for residents, particularly in rural areas, while supporting ongoing modernization efforts in the Secretary of State’s office. The bill is currently awaiting consideration in the Illinois House.
