SPRINGFIELD — Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs announced the I-CASH program returned a record $307.8 million in unclaimed property to more than 567,000 residents, businesses and nonprofit organizations during fiscal year 2026. The office said changes to its Enhanced Money Match program helped automatically return millions of dollars without requiring many recipients to file claims. Since 2018, the program has returned more than $130 million to more than 870,000 people. The Treasurer’s Office encourages residents to check the I CASH database at least twice a year to see if they have unclaimed property waiting to be claimed.
