WASHINGTON D.C.— U.S. Sens. Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth have introduced a Senate resolution recognizing the Chicago Cubs as the team prepares to celebrate its 150th anniversary on Aug. 29. The resolution highlights the franchise’s history since 1876, noting more than 182 million fans have attended Cubs games while millions more have followed the team on radio and television. It also recognizes the club’s eight division titles, 17 National League pennants and three World Series championships, including its historic 2016 title that ended a 108 year championship drought. A companion resolution will be introduced in the U.S. House by Rep. Mike Quigley.
