ROCHELLE — A 57-year-old woman was hospitalized after she was allegedly shot by her boyfriend Tuesday morning at a home in the 1200 block of Tilton Park Drive in Rochelle. Rochelle police said they were contacted at about 8:43 a.m. by a third party who reported the woman had been shot. The victim drove herself to her sister’s home in Aurora, where Aurora police confirmed her injuries before she was taken to a local hospital. She was listed in stable condition. Rochelle police responded to the home and, after several hours of attempting to contact the suspect, members of the Rochelle Police Emergency Response Team entered the residence. Officers found a 48-year-old man dead from what appears to be a self inflicted gunshot wound. Police said no foul play is suspected in his death. Rochelle police were assisted by the Rochelle Fire Department, Illinois State Police, and the Aurora Police Department. Investigators said the shooting appears to be an isolated domestic incident and there was no known threat to the public. The investigation is continuing.
