Unemployment Up Across Illinois

CHICAGO –  The number of first time filings for unemployment are increasing across Illinois.  That’s according to the U.S. Department of Labor, which says for the week ending May 23rd, there were more than 8,300 first time filings in the state, which is more than a thousand more filings than the week prior.  Nationally, the number of initial filings increased compared to the week prior.
