Underwood Secures Federal Funding for DeKalb County Family Service Agency

WASHINGTON DC  – U.S. Rep. Lauren Underwood announced a new round of federal funding for programs supporting health care, nursing education, child care, research and other services in northern Illinois. The Family Service Agency of DeKalb County was awarded $582,504 through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families. The funding will support services for homeless youth, including supervised transitional housing, case management, counseling, independent service planning and life skills development. Underwood, a member of the House Appropriations Committee, said securing federal funding for communities in her district remains a priority.
