Trial Continues For Ogle County Man Charged In 2016 Byron Killings

OREGON – The trial continues Wednesday for a 43-year-old Ogle County man accused of killing his former wife and three-year-old son in a 2016 house fire in Byron. Duane Meyer faces four counts of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated arson and concealment of a homicidal death. Prosecutors presented testimony from an Ogle County Sheriff’s detective about the early investigation. The testimony covered evidence collection, phone and vehicle searches, and interviews with Meyer.
