ROCHELLE — Tilton Elementary School is ready to welcome students today as crews finished a small number of remaining items following the school’s renovation. District 231 officials told the school board Tuesday that the Regional Office of Education completed a walkthrough and found no major problems. The Ogle County Health Department also has approved the building. Classrooms have been furnished, the city completed its fiber connection and crews finished the final connection needed for internet and phone service in part of the building. District officials said most of the remaining work involves minor finishing items rather than major construction.

Staff members and paraprofessionals from across the district have helped prepare the building in recent days, moving furniture, cleaning rooms and getting classrooms ready for students. Officials said the project has been a major undertaking for Tilton staff, who have worked through two years of construction and multiple moves.
