Byron, Illinois – July 13, 2026 – The sights, sounds, and spirit of drag racing’s early days return to Byron Dragway on Friday and Saturday, July 17–18, 2026, as Meltdown 10 brings together the nation’s largest gathering of 1966 and earlier era-correct vintage drag cars for two unforgettable days and nights of racing, vintage cars, and automotive nostalgia.
Widely recognized as the nation’s premier vintage drag race, Meltdown 10 will feature more than 500 authentic 1966-and-earlier era-correct automobiles from all across the United States. From front-engine dragsters and gassers, to altereds, super stocks, hot rods, motorcycles and show cars, every vehicle celebrates the look and excitement of drag racing’s formative years.
Race fans will enjoy two days and two nights of racing under-the-lights. On-track racing racing begins at 10:00 a.m. and continues until 10:00 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.
