Rockford City Council Selects Janessa Neal as Acting Mayor 

ROCKFORD  —  Rockford is naming an acting mayor.  The City Council selected Seventh Ward’s Janessa Neal to serve in the role after Mayor Tom McNamara steps down at the end of the month to become the Chief Executive Officer of the Illinois Municipal League.  Neal’s time as mayor begins on September 1st until voters elect a new one next April.
