Road Work Begins This Week on U.S. 52 and Illinois 26 in Dixon

DIXON — Construction began this week on U.S. 52 and Illinois 26, also known as North Galena Avenue, in Dixon. The Illinois Department of Transportation said the one mile work zone stretches from Lowell Park Road to Fellows Street and will include pavement patching and other road repairs. One lane in each direction will remain open during the project, which is expected to be completed by mid August. Motorists should expect delays, allow extra travel time, watch for changing traffic patterns and workers, and consider alternate routes when possible.
