Polo Ends Curbside Yard Waste Collection

POLO — The City of Polo has discontinued its curbside yard waste collection service effective immediately after repeated violations of collection rules by residents. City officials said they provided multiple public notices and mailed letters over the past several months reminding residents of the guidelines, but the rules continued to be ignored. Residents may continue to dispose of yard waste at the city’s drop off site at 2186 S. Galena Trail, where grass clippings, leaves and other acceptable yard waste must be placed in designated areas. The site is monitored by security cameras, and the city said violations of the rules may result in citations.
