CHICAGO – Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity announced $4.4 million in funding is available through three tourism grant programs to support attractions, events, and marketing across the state. The Tourism Attraction Grant Program offers $1.8 million for developing or improving attractions such as museums, parks, and recreation areas, the Tourism Private Sector Grant Program provides $600,000 for new or enhanced events and festivals, and the Tourism Marketing Partnership Grant Program allocates $2 million to promote destinations and events, with separate allocations for Cook County and the rest of the state. Eligible entities, including counties, municipalities, non-profits, and local promotional groups, can apply for grants ranging from $10,000 to $200,000 through a competitive process, with applications accepted until November 3.
