Mendota Elementary District Considers Transferring Tennis Court Property to City

MENDOTA — The Mendota Elementary School District 289 Board of Education is considering transferring its tennis court property on Stroble Avenue to the City of Mendota. The city has expressed interest in rehabilitating the deteriorated courts and adding a small parking lot for community use. Board President Theresa Komitas said the move would allow the city to restore and maintain a space that could again serve residents. The district no longer uses the courts for student programs, except for the shot put area during track season, which it would retain access to under the proposal. Residents may share feedback at the Nov. 13 board meeting or by emailing Komitas at tkomitas@m289.org.
