Jeep Crashes Into Sycamore Storefronts, Two Taken to Hospital

SYCAMORE — Two people were taken to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital after a Jeep Cherokee crashed into storefronts at 326 and 330 West State Street on Friday afternoon. Police said the vehicle was backing from an angled parking spot when it struck another car, then drove forward, crossed the sidewalk, and hit the buildings. Both businesses were occupied, but everyone made it out safely. The crash remains under investigation. Part of the sidewalk on the south side of State Street will stay closed, though Sunday’s Pumpkin Fest Parade will still pass the area.
