CHICAGO — Shota Imanaga pitched seven scoreless innings and Nico Hoerner drove in four runs with a bases loaded triple and a single as the Chicago Cubs defeated the Minnesota Twins 10 1 on Sunday. Alex Bregman gave the Cubs an early lead with a two run homer in the first inning, his 10th of the season. Imanaga allowed six hits and one walk while striking out three in the win, improving to 6 8 on the season. The Cubs scored seven runs through the first three innings, highlighted by Hoerner’s three run triple in the third. Michael Busch had three hits for Chicago, which scored all 10 runs off Twins starter Zebby Matthews. The Cubs begin a series with the Detroit Tigers on Monday at Wrigley Field with Jameson Taillon scheduled to start.
