A field goal on the final play of the game on Tuesday gave Illinois a 30-28 win over Tennessee at the Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tennessee.
David Olano kicked a 29-year field goal as time expired to give the Illini the win. It was the first time Illinois has won back to back bowl games.
It is also the first time the Illini have had back-to-back 9 win seasons in the program.
Illinois was led by quarterback Luke Altmyer who threw for 196 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for another score.
The Illini finished the season at (9-4).
Tennessee had a final record of (8-5).
