Illinois Public Universities Achieve Highest Enrollment Level in 10 Years

CHICAGO –  Enrollment at public universities continues to grow in Illinois.  State data shows nearly 190-thousand students enrolled during the fall semester of the 2025-26 academic year.  That is the highest enrollment level in 10 years at public universities in Illinois.  Total enrollment increased for the second consecutive year.
