CAMBRIDGE – The Henry County Fair will return for its 167th year June 16 through June 21 in Cambridge with a full schedule of events including a demolition derby featuring school buses, the Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pull sponsored by Hanford Insurance, carnival rides, livestock shows and youth exhibits. Fair Secretary Jennifer West said Wednesday family day remains one of the fair’s most popular traditions.
“We have our Wednesday night family day activities, which is free for the kids, gives the kids kind of a break between showing, let them have a little fun, let them relax. That’s always a fun time with egg toss, pig scramble, chicken scramble. It’s a great night,” West said. Family day will also feature adult divisions of several contests and a costume contest celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary. The fair queen pageant will be held Tuesday to open fair week. Organizers said food vendors, including the county pork producers, will be on hand throughout the event. More information and pass details are available at henrycountyfairil.com.
