Duckworth Highlights Illinois Biofuels in Meeting with Growth Energy

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth met last week with officials from Growth Energy to emphasize the importance of U.S. biofuels for Illinois farmers, energy security, and the economy. Duckworth discussed expanding year-round sales of ethanol blends, supporting domestic biofuel production, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and lowering fuel costs for American families. She also met with renewable energy leaders from Illinois-based companies including Archer Daniels Midland and John Deere. Duckworth has sponsored legislation to increase access to ethanol and sustainable aviation fuels and has worked to expand international markets for Illinois agricultural products, including securing trade agreements with Japan and Taiwan that benefit the state’s corn and soybean growers.
