DEKALB — The DeKalb City Council voted Monday night to approve an amendment to the purchase agreement with Gillig LLC for six public transit buses, increasing the total cost slightly to cover updated specifications and availability of parts. The purchase includes one hybrid bus and five diesel buses and is fully funded through the Rebuild Illinois Capital Grant Program. The new buses will replace aging Transdev-owned vehicles whose service lives have expired, and the purchase is included in the city’s 2025 budget.
