SANDWICH — The DeKalb County Coroner’s Office says 55-year-old Al Wheeler of Sandwich was killed October 9th after being struck by an Amtrak train while walking on railroad tracks near Latham and Center streets. The crash occurred just before 9 p.m. on the east side of town, and authorities say there were no signs of foul play. The coroner and Amtrak Police Department continue to investigate the fatal accident.
