Creston Water Main Work Prompts Boil Order for Residents

CRESTON — Water main work in Creston has led to a boil order for several residents after water pressure was lost or service was interrupted in affected areas. The Village of Creston said water service has been restored to the first five homes on Regulators Street, but those residents remain under a boil order that is expected to continue until at least Friday while water quality testing is completed. Village officials said two water samples taken 24 hours apart must both test clean before the order can be lifted. Water service is scheduled to be shut off Wednesday for two homes on West Street, a home on Beck Road and an apartment complex north of the Beck Road home and south of the railroad tracks. Those properties will also be placed under a boil order once service is restored. Residents under the order are advised to boil water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing produce and preparing baby formula, or use bottled water until further notice.
