OREGON— The City of Oregon is prioritizing repairs at the Coliseum after water damage and plaster deterioration were found in upper rooms. The Coliseum reserve fund has a current balance of $154,000. The City Council directed staff to address water leaks, inspect flashing and repair a flat roof section, with regrading and sloping estimated at $8,000.
City Manager Darin DeHaan said previous repairs did not address this.
“When we redid the roof on the Coliseum, we did the big roof, but we did not include the cupola,” DeHaan said.
The city also approved replacing the rear utility ramp for about $14,500 to improve access for equipment, a scissor lift and the stage. Long term replacement of the aging overhead heating and cooling units was also discussed, with full roof unit upgrades estimated between $94,700 and $101,800. Staff will consider phased HVAC options after the water repairs are underway.
