ROCHELLE – The Rochelle Chamber of Commerce will host Night on the Downtown from 4 to 7 p.m. tonight at the parking lot at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Lincoln Highway, across from The Spark Shop. The community event will celebrate the final days of summer with shopping at local businesses, vendors, live music and a selection of food trucks.
Rochelle Chamber Director Tricia Herrera said this is a new event.
“We have had this in the works for a couple of years as an extension of the Spark Shop. We wanted to give those vendors an opportunity to be out in the public and kind of have a very chill vibe with this event. So our music is going to be the Husky Hunks, and they’re going to be doing some Frank Sinatra. We’re also going to have the strings group from the elementary and high school. There’s going to be food and vendors there, very specific vendors, candles and sweet treats and things like that, so you can shop and enjoy some nice music, grab some dinner from one of our food vendors, and then perhaps a cocktail, and just have a nice summer evening in downtown Rochelle.”
Residents are invited to spend the evening downtown and support local businesses while enjoying the community event.
