Hemstock Road Bridge Could Reopen By End Of Next Week

HILLCREST – The Hemstock Road Bridge could reopen by the end of next week as emergency repairs move toward completion. Alliance Contractors has completed rebar and framing work and poured concrete Wednesday as part of the repairs. The concrete must cure before the forms can be removed, followed by a final inspection by Baxter and Woodman. The bridge can reopen after the inspection and approval from Ogle County and the Illinois Department of Transportation. Village officials said the end of next week is the goal, but the reopening depends on those final approvals. The village is also working with Alliance Contractors on emergency repairs to the Bethel Road Bridge, where a vehicle damaged part of the structure. Work on that repair is expected to begin Thursday, with the damaged wing portion being removed and replaced.
