BYRON — The Rock River Valley Blood Center will hold a blood drive at Byron Public Library, 100 S. Washington St., on Thursday, January 8, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. RRVBC provides blood for 14 area hospitals and collects more than 800 units weekly from donors in nine counties across Illinois and Wisconsin. Donors are encouraged to reserve a donation time at RRVBC.org, though walk-ins are welcome. Maggie Anderson, Marketing and Recruitment Specialist with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said “The holidays are over, but the need for blood never takes a break. Setting aside a little time to donate can save lives for patients who rely on transfusions every day.”
