MT. MORRIS — Rock River Valley Blood Center will host a blood drive Wednesday from noon to 5 p.m. at Pinecrest, 414 S. Wesley Ave., in Mt. Morris. Community members are encouraged to donate to help provide blood products for patients at hospitals throughout northern Illinois. Maggie Anderson, donor recruiter with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said blood donations are needed year round because they cannot be manufactured. “Blood banks, including the Rock River Valley Blood Center, often face shortages, especially during holidays and emergencies, making consistent donations essential,” Anderson said. The nonprofit operates mobile blood drives throughout the area to make donating more convenient for residents.
