Two Drivers Injured in Separate Ogle County Crashes

OREGON — Two drivers were injured in separate single vehicle crashes Wednesday in Ogle County, including one that ended with a vehicle in a lake and another that resulted in felony DUI charges. At about 2 p.m., deputies responded to the 700 block of West Flag Road near Dixon after a passenger vehicle driven by a 67-year-old Dixon woman left the road for unknown reasons, entered a ditch, and drove into Lost Lake. She was taken to OSF Saint Katharine’s Hospital in Dixon with minor injuries and was cited for improper lane usage. Later, at about 4:45 p.m., deputies responded to the 12000 block of East Big Mound Road for a rollover crash involving a passenger vehicle driven by a 60-year-old Rockford man. Investigators said the vehicle lost control, entered the south ditch, struck an embankment, overturned, hit a telephone pole and came to rest on its roof. The driver was taken to Mercy Riverside with non-life threatening injuries and was charged with aggravated driving while license revoked and aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol. He also was cited for driving while license revoked, driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed, improper lane usage and not wearing a seat belt. He was released on a notice to appear in court.
