ROCKFORD — A woman charged in a deadly stabbing in Rockford last month is back behind bars. A judge ordered 20-year-old Varianna Parsons be remanded to the Winnebago County jail. Parsons and 24-year-old Shawn Bunton are both charged with murder in the killing of 37-year-old Kyle Stephens, who was found stabbed to death October 7th under the Whitman Street Bridge. Parson was previously released under the SAFE-T Act. The decision was later challenged by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office.
