(Orlando, FL) — The Chicago White Sox took home the top prize at the Major League Baseball draft lottery and will select first overall this summer. This is the first time the team has held the top pick since selecting Hall of Fame outfielder Harold Baines in 1977, and just the third time ever.
The Tampa Bay Rays, Minnesota Twins, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates and Kansas City Royals round out the lottery.
The draft will be held July 11th and 12th in Philadelphia as part of the All-Star Game festivities.
