Viakable Announces $55 Million Expansion in La Salle

LA SALLE – Viakable will invest $55 million to expand its manufacturing facility in La Salle, creating 50 new full time jobs and retaining 65 existing positions. The project follows Gov. JB Pritzker’s 2025 trade mission to Mexico and is supported through the state’s Economic Development for a Growing Economy program. The company plans to add 22,000 square feet to its facility and install 17 new machines. The expansion also includes upgrades to utilities, including a new electrical substation, to increase production capacity for wire drawing, cabling, extrusion and packaging. Viakable, a XIGNUX company, has operated in La Salle since 2018 and manufactures electrical cable used in power generation, transmission and distribution.
