ROCHELLE – Workers at Tyson in Rochelle will be transitioning to a new employer soon. Tyson Warehousing Services will lay off 259 employees at its Rochelle Distribution Center in Ogle County, effective August 15th, following the sale of the business. According to a WARN notice filed with the state, no job losses are expected at the end of the transition period, as affected workers will be offered positions with the incoming company, Lineage, Inc. Lineage announced plans to acquire the cold storage warehouse in Rochelle as part of a $247 million deal with Tyson Foods that includes three other sites across the U.S. The notice was filed on June 13 in compliance with the Illinois WARN Act, which requires advance notice of mass layoffs or plant closures.
