Trout Stocking Delayed At White Pines Due To Warm Weather

SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Department of Natural Resources delayed fall trout stocking at Pine Creek in White Pines Forest State Park because lake and stream temperatures remain too warm for fish survival. Biologists said stocking will begin once water temperatures drop below 68 degrees, likely by Oct. 31. The delay means trout may not be present on opening day, Oct. 18.
