DEKALB — Tails Humane Society will hold its annual Mutt Strut 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 9 a.m. at Hopkins Park in DeKalb. The event will offer a 5K and a one mile option, with participants welcome to bring their dogs. Registration is $35 for people and $5 for dogs, with proceeds supporting the care of animals at Tails Humane Society. Kirsti McNeece, events and marketing manager, said the event is one of the few dog friendly 5K events in the area.
“We would love for anyone to join us, whether you have a pet or not, on Saturday, September 12th, starting at 9 a.m. at Hopkins Park,” McNeece said. “And all of the money that is raised for the Mutt Strut all goes to help the 2,200 animals that we help annually.”
Dogs must be leashed and friendly with other dogs. Participants can register online through the Tails Humane Society website.
