EDGINGTON — A table is being blamed for causing a lockdown at a school in Rock Island County. The Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office received a report yesterday of possible gunshots at Rockridge High School. A staff member believed they had heard gunfire and immediately contacted 911. The school was placed on lockdown before the School Resource Officer determined that there was no active shooter. The noise initially believed to be gunshots was actually the sound of a collapsing table that hit the floor and echoed through the hallway.
