Stillman Fire Protection District Receives New Engine to Replace 1997 Model

STILLMAN VALLEY — The Stillman Fire Protection District has taken delivery of a new fire engine to replace a 1997 model that has exceeded the National Fire Protection Association’s recommended service life. The new Engine 1701 carries 1,500 gallons of water, twice the capacity of the current engine, to better serve rural areas without hydrants. Designed by district members for practicality and long-term service, the apparatus includes modern safety features to protect firefighters. Crews will complete required training and operation hours before the engine is placed in service in the coming weeks.
