SPRINGFIELD — Gov. JB Pritzker has directed all agencies under the Illinois Flag Display Act to lower the United States and Illinois flags to half staff today in honor of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, with flags to remain lowered from sunrise until sunset and additional information available through the state’s flag honors website. The observance marks the 1941 attack on the U.S. naval base in Hawaii that killed more than 2400 service members and civilians and led to the nation’s entry into World War II.
