State Awards 17 Million Dollars to Expand Illinois Works Pre Apprenticeship Program

SPRINGFIELD – Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity announced last month that they awarded more than $17 million in state taxpayer funds to 39 recipients for the expansion of the Illinois Works Pre-Apprenticeship Program. The program launched in 2021 with the goal of increasing diversity and access to apprenticeship programs in the construction and building trades.
