ROCHELLE — Spring Lake Pool is on pace for one of its busiest seasons in recent years, with the Flagg Rochelle Park District reporting more than 7,300 visitors through July 15 and 411 pool passes sold, already surpassing the 309 passes sold during all of last season. Park district staff told board members Monday that recent hot weather has increased attendance, leading to additional lifeguard staffing and more frequent breaks to keep employees safe. The district also recently installed new ADA stairs at the pool, providing an easier way for visitors to enter and exit the water. Officials said community swim nights have continued to draw more than 400 people each. The next free Community Swim Night will be July 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Spring Lake Pool in Rochelle. The event is sponsored by Central Bank Rochelle and is open to all ages.
