CHICAGO — The number of shootings on interstates in Illinois is down for a fourth year in a row. The Illinois State Police reports interstate shootings statewide decreased 31-percent last year as compared to 2024. Also, for the first time in roughly a decade, there were zero deadly interstate shootings in Illinois.
