Saluting Unsung Heroes During National Family Caregivers Month

CHICAGO – November is National Family Caregivers Month, honoring the approximately 90 million Americans caring for loved ones with chronic conditions, disabilities, or age-related needs. The observance is organized by the Caregiver Action Network. Caregiver Action Network says family caregivers provide billions of hours of unpaid care each year while often balancing caregiving with work and other family responsibilities. President Bill Clinton officially issued the first presidential proclamation recognizing the observance in 1997.
