BYRON — The Rock River Valley Blood Center will host a blood drive on Monday, Feb. 9, from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Byron High School, 696 N. Colfax St., Byron, IL 61010. RRVBC supplies the total blood needs for 14 area hospitals, collecting more than 800 units weekly to support patient care. Maggie Anderson, Donor Recruiter with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said that hospitals use blood for a number of life saving uses.
“Local blood donations help keep blood products available close to home for surgeries, trauma care, and ongoing medical treatment,” she said.
Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are accepted; donors should bring a photo ID.
