ROCKFORD — From November 3rd – 7th, Rockford University will host a week of human trafficking awareness and training designed for first responders, healthcare professionals, and the community. The event, led by AED Essentials, iEmpathize, and the City of Rockford, will include multiple 90-minute training sessions for firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, 911 dispatchers, and medical providers to help them recognize trafficking situations and respond appropriately. The week also features the Apathy Effect Exhibit, a self-guided experience with film, photography, and artifacts highlighting real-life survivor stories. The program seeks to educate Northern Illinois professionals and residents while promoting coordinated community action to combat human trafficking.
